Limit caffeine intake as much as possible. Eat complex carbohydrates rather than refind ones. Stay away from sugar goodies as much as possible and when you do have a craving, choose the more healthy alternative, for instance a homemade pudding made from jaggery instead of sugar. Getting used to eating sensibly will help you make good food choices during your pergnancy and the many months of breastfeeding that follow.  The other things you will have to give up now if you indulge in them are up now if you indulge in them are cigarettes, drugs and alcohol. All of these can cause grave harm to your baby. In fact, you should also encourage your partner to give up these becasue all of these substances can affect the nature of sperm.
