foot care September 1st, 2010Here are some natural and simple remedies which can be followed in treating your cracked heels. They are:
* The first and foremost you can do to treat your cracked heels is that you should keep your body and skin hydrated. To do so drink water in good quantity. Excess of water in body will keep your skin soft and will prevent dryness of the skin.
* Whenever you return back home, make sure that wash your feet and clean them. This will prevent your heels from getting any infection.
* Scrub your feet regularly to get rid of the excess of dead skin deposition.
* You can use pumice stone once in a week to remove dead skin from the feet.
* Regularly massage your heels with petroleum jelly to ensure they are soft and moist.
* Make sure that the nails of your feet are short and trimmed
* In case you are suffering from cracked heels, just soak them in lukewarm water which will make the hard dead skin soft and tender, which can be easily removed.
* Never leave your cracked heels open. Wear cotton socks throughout the day to protect them from any infection.
* Massage your cracked heels regularly using a foot massage cream.
* Avoid wearing socks or shoes with wet feet. You can spray powder on your feet to keep your feet dry.
* In case your feet are paining, then soak them in warm water with salt added to it, and then soak them in cold water immediately. Soak them for more than half an hour. This therapy will improve the circulation of blood in your heels which will help in early healing of your cracked heels.
* Avoid wearing uncomfortable shoes as they can worsen your cracked heels.
