Foot treatment tips
foot care August 24th, 2010The steps which are involved in foot treatment are:
* A series of precise manipulations are required in this method, by gently rotating the bones and by stretching the soft tissues.
* The condition is not painful for the patient, even if the object is held in the same position. Now, a cast is applied from the toes to the groin.
* These casts are changed every 5-7 days and most of the children require 60-100 casts.
* The position of feet improves gradually till they are pointed in the outward direction. Once this degree of correction is achieved the surgeon looks for the tightness of the heel in the baby’s foot.
* In case the baby has the tight heel chord then it will require a small surgery
to lengthen it up.
* In this surgery, a small cut is made just above the back of the heel to correct the deformity.
* Once the surgery is done, the baby wears the cast in the leg and foot for 2-3 weeks.
