Ever envied those stars who flaunt their sculpted abs, washboard tummies and miniscule waists, as they strut around in a pair of skinny jeans? All that is no longer out of reach, thanks to the ‘skinny jeans workout’. This exercise routine popularised by Hollywood fitness trainer Lisa Goldenthal, now demonstrates that the toned bod which can slide into a pair of skinny jeans, is no longer the exclusive province of a select few. Now, the biggest bane of most females (and males, too) the flabby folds of skin visible just above the jeans, can now be eliminated thanks to the ‘skinny jeans’ exercise routine. Fitness trainers back home welcome the new trend.
Prem Anand, fitness expert, says, “I think the ‘skinny jeans workout’ trend is a good one since it helps those who do it to stay motivated till they reach their target. Slimming down to fit into an outfit has now become quite common among many people, especially women who wish to get terrific abs and a flat tum. ” Toning one’s abs and waist does not need intense training, he points out, but will require the person to work out for at least 30 minutes every day.
Fitness trainer Vesna Jacob agrees that having a goal is important, but sounds a note of caution. “Wanting to get into those trendy, hot, skinny jeans can be a great motivating tool, but having said that, one must be very careful as well, because a lot of people tend to get frustrated if they don’t get the desired results right away. Rule number one is to run a reality check, in terms of what exactly your goal is. Rule number two, be clear about how long you have given yourself to achieve it. For example, if you are a size 34, it would be impractical to expect to get into size 28 jeans overnight. Give yourself a short-term goal within the large picture and work towards it,” she suggests.
