Nail treatment tips
nail care October 26th, 2009We all aim to have smooth and youthful hands that are also accompanied with flawless nails. To many of us hands that are freshly manicured represent a symbol of social status. However, not many of us give our hands the attention that they deserve. To most, hand care is limited to an occasional manicure. Our hands do a lot of hard work during the day and hence it is only fair that they deserve to be treated with a little more love and care.
Cuticle oil can be made very easily at home and the regular application of the same will help in keeping your nails healthy and hydrated. Here are a few tips on how to make your very own cuticle oil. Mix together ten drops each of lemon juice, myrrh and frankincense. To this mixture add two tablespoons of olive oil. Mix all these ingredients well and then pour the mixture into a glass bottle (dark colored). This oil has to be rubbed on to the cuticles and the area surrounding the nails two to three times a week; it will help in strengthening the nails. You could also make an excellent cuticle oil by using apricot and wheat germ oil. For this, you will need to mix two drops each of myrrh, frankincense and wheat germ oil. To this mixture, add two tablespoons of apricot oil. Once the ingredients have been mixed together pour the liquid into a bottle. This oil can be massaged into the cuticle every alternate day; this will also help in strengthening weak and brittle nails.
